Sophie Duker is an “openly black” comedian and writer working predominantly in TV. Sophie took two full-length comedy hours to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019 and 2022, both of which sold out their entire runs and subsequent shows at the Soho Theatre, London. Her first tour of the UK and Ireland had such a phenomenal response that new dates have been added, extending the run until December 2023.

Sophie has a Comedy Award nomination for her debut show (Venus). She won the 2021 Funny Women Best Comedy Writer Award, as voted by producers, head writers and executives across the industry. She was one of eight comedians selected to be a part of Just For Laughs’ International New Faces line up for the 2022 Festival. Sophie is the winner of the 13th series of Taskmaster (Channel 4) as well as Celebrity Mastermind, Pointless and House of Games.

Sophie’s many TV appearances include Live at The Apollo (BBC2), Don’t Hate the Playaz (ITV2),  8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4), and Jonathan Ross’ Comedy Club (ITV). Sophie is well known for hosting podcasts such as Obsessed with… I May Destroy You, The Guilty Feminist (co-host) and has written for projects as diverse as the BAFTAs, Famalam and Cartoon Network.
